2006-2007 Chapter Accomplishments

bulletProvided 4 State of Illinois approved CE courses.  The quality of the courses was higher, and the cost (even to non NACHI members) was lower that is commonly available from other National Associations and private vendors in this area.

 

bulletWorked with Chapters in neighboring states (Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan) to further their education needs.  NACHI helping NACHI.

 

bulletCourses developed in the Chicago Chapter have also been approved for State Approved CE in other states.  NACHI helping NACHI.

 

bulletApproval of 2 more State Approved CE courses.  NACHI helping NACHI.

 

bulletChapter membership increased by over 50% (as of 4/20/07).  This number will increase further before the end of the Chapter year (5/18/07).  Many of these members were former members of other national associations who have seen that NACHI provides more opportunities to them.

 

bulletChapter revenue doubled (membership dues, education class income, raffles, etc).

 

bullet12 monthly meetings wit outstanding speakers (Roofing, Plumbing, Foundations, HVAC, Mold, Marketing, Electrical, etc).  Quality education and learning.

 

bulletParticipation in the year's Illinois Association of Realtor's convention.

 

bulletThe Chapter was involved in the recent passage of a new Radon Law in Illinois.

 

bullet Over 247 free "Furnace and Water Heater" public service safety inspections, provided by Chapter members, with 97 such inspections finding significant safety problems (back drafting water heaters, damaged heat exchangers, Carbon Monoxide leaks, gas leaks, etc).  NACHI Chicago Chapter members saving lives!

 

bulletOver 20,000 copies of NACHI's "Three Deadly Mistakes" brochure distributed to over 600 Realtor offices in the entire 7 county Chicagoland area.  These brochures were hand delivered, to agents and agency broker/owners who requested the brochures, not blind e-mailed.  These brochures promoted NACHI and the Chicago Chapter with the web links for both on the back cover.

 

bullet27 Realtor Office Presentations, given by the NACHI Chicago Chapter (not by individual inspectors who are members of NACHI, which were more) promoting NACHI and NACHI Chapter inspectors in the 7 County Chicagoland area.

 

bulletPartnerships with People's Energy (the local gas utility company) allowing NACHI Chapter members to attend their quality, State Approved CE class with a $100.00 discount.

 

bulletPartnerships with new home buyer and Real Estate Investor Seminar presenters, promoting NACHI inspectors.  Participants include 5/3 Bank, Washington Mutual, Charter One Bank and Countrywide.  Over 80 seminars given during the last year.

 

bulletFor the First time, NACHI inspectors are advertised on a multi-state (Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana) radio station, promoting NACHI and the Chicago Chapter members.  Listen here.

 

bulletNACHI, and the Chicago Chapter members, have made their presence known in the area that is home to another National Association's National Headquarters.

 

bulletNACHI Chapter of the Month, Feb, 2007.  (Well deserved by the other Chapter Officers and members, who have worked their tails off!)

 

bulletNACHI, Member of the Year, 2006 (with the understanding that the whole Chapter, especially the Officers and Board of Review, are, at least and mostly more!!!, responsible for the award as the President, who actually received this award).
